About Bombisha

Bombisha is a project of the heart founded on a mutual love and obsession for Yerba Mate tea and the celebratory communal culture that surrounds it.

We considered ourselves part of the emerging earth-centred, responsible business movement that focusses on health, promoting sustainable products that enrich the lives of all involved, from seed to grower to consumer. We co-create with and support like-minded social and business operations, creating communities aligned with the living universe.

Community is what inspires us and there is nothing like the Yerba Mate experience to break down social barriers. It is euphoric and connective, opening us to allow the softness of the heart to shine through. Essentially, we follow in the footsteps of hundreds of generations who have fallen in love with this exquisite plant medicine and created elaborate social ceremony around it. Effortlessly creating community, Yerba Mate shows us the way.

Born into an Argentine family, I’ve been surrounded by the culture and sharing of Yerba Mate from an early age – thanks Mum! La Yerba has now followed me through childhood into the office space, enjoying the creative insights that seem to flow freely when I drink this amazing tea.  Meeting James for the first time when we both spotted each other carrying our gourds in the office – since then it’s been a non stop cultivation of friendship and the creation of Bombisha.  I take my Mate in a traditional gourd for the extra smokey flavour – yum!

I continue to be amazed at both the healing power of plants and community, so I love that Mate is know as ‘ the herb of friendship’ and I get the opportunity to share it. On any given day you may find me strolling a beach or lost in a forest, concocting a botanical elixir, strumming the ukulele, making chocolate, upside down in a headstand, gathering with wild women or with my arms around my darling husband and business partner James. I’ll take teapot Mate over a gourd everyday! Strong and gaucho.

In my adventures around the world, while immersed in the rich passion of Argentina my love affair with yerba mate began. Totally memorized by the culture and tradition that surrounds it – I haven’t stopped drinking it! For me this medicinal herb opens the pathways to what’s possible in life and is a fascinating piece to this amazing planet we live in. My favorite way to drink mate is the traditional gourd made from Palo Santo (holy wood)!
