The 14th of December 2014 saw the unofficial launch of Bombisha at The Festival of Change in Sydney. We were invited to take part in this special event, which was created by Think Education to bring together innovative, inspiring industry leaders.
The Bombisha crew inducted some willing members of the public into the yerba mate tradition. We served up La Yerba gaucho style and sat back sipping on gourds, listening to the Argentine rhythms of live musician Sebastian Goya. Participants learnt the artful technique of creating the perfect mate infusion, and as we sat there sharing our gourds and passing them around and around the circle, they discovered why yerba mate is know as ‘the drink of friendship’.
We were all feeling the spirit of Bombisha that day. And what inspired these people to attend a Bombisha yerba mate tea workshop? Most participants that signed up had never heard of yerba mate, and bombillas and gourds were a very foreign experience. There were a couple of tea lovers who were keen to experience a new tea tradition, but other than that, it was a group of people all ages and sizes from all corners of Sydney. The commonality, curiosity and the desire for new experiences, which the Bombisheros delivered with mucho gusto.
